So, here are the steps you must follow on how to download to psp successfully, from a Windows PC to a Sony PSP:
- Connect your PSP to the PC using a USB cable. (costs $10)
- Next select the home button on your PSP.
- Now using the directional buttons, up and down, find USB Connection.
- Ener the X button, and your PSP should now show USB Connection.
- Wait a few seconds whilst your PC detects the unit, it will show a new 'hard drive'.
- Select the appropriate drive letter corresponding to the PSP.
- Create a new folder on the drive and call it something appropriate.
- In this new folder create a sub folder called musicdownload.
- Copy your mp3 songs into the new sub folder.
- Once you've completed the copying, press the O button on your PSP to end USB connect mode.
Using the left and right arrows, move to the PSP music area, then use the up and down arrows to find Memory Stick. Select that folder by pressing the X button, and you will now be able to find all your downloads.
It should be noted, that the PSP will only accept MP3 files. Sony has its own Image Converter 2.1 with a simple GUI that will manage all the transfering for you.
For gamers, there are PSP game download websites that will let you download free PSP games at fast speeds without any risk of spyware. These sites will also let you download all sorts of other PSP stuff such as music, movies, themes and wallpapers.
The catch is that there is always a one-time membership fee to get in. It costs around about $50 to get access, but it is to unlimited free PSP downloads. |
